PartyLite Expands Into Spain

 
Leading direct selling company PartyLite, specializing in scented candles and candle accessories, has expanded into Spain with an exclusive distributor. The move marks the 19th European country where the direct seller is actively doing business.  
PartyLite launched its collaboration with the Spanish exclusive distributor Marcel Cluny (MCY Cosmetics SLL Technology and Distribution) with a product training session in Bilbao in November 2015.

Blyth Quarterly Sales Down From $118 Million To $103 Million

 
Blyth, Inc. (NYSE:  BTH), a direct-to-consumer company and leading designer and marketer of candles and accessories for the home and health, wellness and beauty products, household convenience items and personalized gifts sold through the direct selling and direct marketing channels, today reported sales and earnings for the first quarter of 2015.
Net sales for the three months ended March 31, 2015 decreased approximately 12% to $103.7 million from $118.2 million for the comparable prior year period.  Sales for the quarter were negatively impacted by the strengthening U.S. Dollar, particularly against the euro, by approximately 9%, or $10.7 million.
Commenting on the first quarter results, Robert B. Goergen, Jr., Chief Executive Officer noted, “While our Catalog & Internet segment sales gained over the prior year period, our Candles & Home Decor segment sales were negatively affected by the increasing strength of the U.S. dollar

PartyLite Candles Expands Into Turkey

 
PartyLite is excited that its products will now be available in Turkey. PartyLite is the world’s number one party plan company selling candles, candle holders, flameless fragrance and wax warmers, as well as holiday and home décor, predominately through independent business entrepreneurs.
PartyLite reached an agreement in October with Istanbul-based which will have exclusive distribution rights to sell a variety of PartyLite products in Turkey. The opening of the Turkish market means that PartyLite products are now available in 18 countries across the European continent.
Martin Köhler, President of PartyLite Europe, and Luca Pozzoli, PartyLite group general manager for Switzerland and Emerging Markets, greeted more than 150 independent entrepreneurs at a festive opening event held by the distributor in December. Approximately 500 starter kits have already been ordered for 2015 by the distributor.
The distribution company was founded by two enterprising women, Elçin Birben and Hürcan Haydar, who both have several years of experience in direct selling. “We are a young company with a goal to play a vital role in the Turkish direct selling industry,” explained Elçin Birben.

PartyLite Named Best Direct-Selling Company In Europe 2014

 
European direct sales association Seldia has selected PartyLite as the best European direct selling company in 2014. During the association’s annual conference in Brussels/Belgium in early October, Martin Köhler, PartyLite President Europe, accepted the prestigious ASTRA award from Seldia’s chairman & CEO of Swedish company Oriflame, Magnus Brännström.
In paying tribute to the winner, Brännström highlighted the strong similarities between the PartyLite business model and the goals Seldia works hard to achieve: primarily the promotion and further development of the direct sales model across Europe including the social welfare and economic aspects for direct sales professionals, especially the active support of career opportunities for women. In addition, the chairman also praised the enormous support of Seldia itself by PartyLite Europe with regard to the growing digitalisation.

Tracie Graham, Vice President of Sales at PartyLite Canada, was specially honoured by the Direct Sellers Association of Canada at its annual conference held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where the organization also celebrated its 60th anniversary. Tracie received the organization’s Distinguished Service Award.
According to DSA President Ken Mulhall, the award is presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the DSA through their involvement in the affairs of the association, in their community or in public service.
