Hai-O Business Slows Down

 
Facing escalating costs and slower domestic consumer demand, Hai-O Enterprise Bhd seeks to grow its business in cooperation with partners in China via new investments, according to managing director Tan Kai Hee.
A new venture entails the opening of a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic in Malaysia to treat diabetes patients. This new business segment is the result of a joint venture with a Chinese health food operator in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in southwest China.

“Our partners in China are keen to invest, as they see the current economic slowdown as an opportunity to expand. We also intend to work with prominent TCM operators in China so that their technology and knowledge base can be transferred to Malaysia,” he told reporters following Hai-O’s annual general meeting (AGM) yesterday.

Infinitus Partners With Cambridge For International Research Centre

 
On 2 September, the Cambridge Infinitus Research Centre (CIRCE) was officially established by Chinese direct selling company Infinitus (China) Company Ltd, a member of LKK Health Products Group (LKKHPG), and the University of Cambridge. This collaboration marked Infinitus’ first academic partnership outside China.
The signing ceremony took place on the Cambridge campus. Mr. Tim Chun, Senior Vice President of LKKHPG, and Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, signed the cooperation agreement, and unveiled the plaque along with other representatives from both parties.
The Center is positioned as a world-class research platform which will fully incorporate Cambridge’s leading strengths in molecular cell biology with Infinitus’ profound accumulation in TCM healthcare after officially put into use. It aims to transform the cutting-edge research findings into innovative TCM health products.

Hai-O MLM Records $35 Million Revenues In Q4

 
In an environment where the ringgit has depreciated by some 19% over the past one year, wellness and multi-level marketing (MLM) company Hai-O Enterprise Bhd is beginning to be attractive due to its defensive qualities.
With its current dividend yield of around 6%, Hai-O packs a good dividend return for investors. Hai-O has one of the highest dividend yields in Bursa Malaysia, and has a policy of paying out at least 50% of its net profits as dividends.
Managing director Tan Kai Hee says the company has paid out RM 235 million (approx $60 million) in dividends since 1997, an average of 55% yearly. Over the last five years, the dividend payout was on the rise, and had grown by some 11.38% per annum.
