Stream Launches Energy Services In Delaware

Stream (Stream Energy), a leading direct selling company and provider of connected life services, officially launched their line of Energy Services, in addition to Wireless, Protective and Home Services, in Delaware on Tuesday.
This is the company’s second energy expansion in 2017, following the opening of the Illinois market in September.
Delaware is the eighth state added to Stream’s ever-expanding energy retail provider footprint, which includes Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Maryland and Illinois, plus Washington, D.C.
“After completing our licensing application process, we’re thrilled to officially add Delaware to our growing list of energy states,” said Larry Mondry, President and CEO, Stream. “This is a wonderful opportunity for even more consumers in the Northeast to get to know Stream and join our family.”
At launch, customers in Delaware will choose from Stream’s six-month fixed-rate plan at 2 percent below the incumbent and 12-month fixed-rate energy plan at competitive market pricing.
“This is our second energy expansion this year, and the momentum is exciting,” said Chief Operating Officer Dan O’Malley. “We’re ending 2017 on a high note and looking forward to the growth 2018 is sure to bring as Stream continues to expand into new markets.”

Fifth Circuit Decertifies Class Action Suit Against Stream

Stream, a leading direct selling company and provider of essential services, on October 16 realized a key appellate victory in its ongoing Federal class action litigation before the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans.
Arising out of oral arguments held during February 2015, the Fifth Circuit panel voted to decertify a purported class of plaintiffs whose two named representatives alleged violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. This appellate ruling reverses a prior January 2014 order of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas that erroneously certified a class of plaintiffs consisting of current and former Stream Independent Associates.
The Federal class action lawsuit in question alleges that Stream operates a pyramid scheme in violation of Federal racketeering laws. Stream has vehemently denied these charges and

Solavei Sues Stream Energy For Stealing Trade Secrets After Merger Talks

A Dallas District Court judge today blocked Stream Energy from using proprietary technology and information to launch a new mobile phone service after social commerce leader Solavei sued Stream for stealing trade secrets gathered during extensive merger talks.
Seattle-based Solavei sought the injunction to halt Stream and its marketing arm, Ignite, from using trade secrets and other intellectual property in launching a mobile phone service sold through an online direct-marketing platform – exactly the type of social commerce business pioneered and continuously innovated upon by Solavei. Stream’s mobile business was set to launch on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at an event in Las Vegas.
“Without benefit of Solavei’s confidential information and the guidance and explanation provided during due diligence, Defendants could not launch this new business – particularly not in a matter of months,” the lawsuit states.
Solavei provides high-quality, low-cost and contract-free mobile phone service in the United States. The company’s core business strategy combines social media, referral marketing and mobile service.
Stream is a Texas company involved in the direct marketing of retail electric service. Senior Stream executives named in the lawsuit are Chairman Rob Snyder, CEO Mark “Bouncer” Schiro and CFO Renee Hornbaker along with top Stream associates who were bound by specific confidentiality agreements.
