Stella & DOT Asked To Discontinue Earnings Claims

The USA Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC) of BBB National Programs recommended that certain earnings claims disseminated by Stella & DOT, LLC salesforce members be discontinued.
Stella & DOT is a multi-level direct selling company that sells jewellery, bags, accessories, and women’s clothing headquartered in California. The inquiry was commenced by DSSRC through its ongoing independent monitoring of advertising and marketing claims in the direct selling industry.
The claims that formed the initial basis of this inquiry, as well as additional claims that were identified during the inquiry, were located on Facebook. They include:

Stella & Dot CEO To Release First Book

 
Stella & Dot Chief executive Jessica Herrin is a mentor to thousands of entrepreneurs at Stella & Dot Family Brands, the company she founded in 2007, but her insights on life and business will find a wider audience in a forthcoming book.
Titled Find Your Extraordinary, the book marks Herrin’s literary debut and invites readers to “dream bigger, live happier, and achieve success on your own.” The 272-page book from Crown Business, a subsidiary of Random House, is set to hit shelves on May 3, 2016.
“Whether we work a corporate job, run a family, or run our own business, Herrin offers realistic, attainable steps each one of us can take to achieve extraordinary success on our own terms,” the publisher’s blurb states.

Stella & Dot Honored With Corporate Compassion Award

 
Fashion & Jewelry direct selling company Stella & Dot, has been honored with the HollyRod Corporate Compassion Award at the 17th annual DesignCare, a celebration of fashion, music and fundraising benefiting the HollyRod Foundation to help and give hope to those living with autism and Parkinson’s diseases. 

“We are so proud to receive this year’s Corporate Compassion Award at last night’s HollyRod Foundation DesignCare Event in Los Angeles. Our CEO and Founder Jessica Herrin accepted the award on behalf of our Stylists and customers for helping to raise over $270,000 for autism awareness.” Said a statement posted on the company’s facebook page.

Stella & Dot created an Autism Awareness Collection for April’s autism awareness month. All net proceeds from the purchase of the collection went to HollyRod Foundation.

Stella & Dot: 3 lessons From “Undercover Boss”

 
Grace Van Cleave is the youngest senior director at Stella & Dot, leading a team of nearly 300 stylists worldwide. She appeared in the reality show “Undercover Boss” along side Stella & Dot CEO Jessica Herrin. These are her lessons from the show that can be applied to anyone growing their business.
In January, my company, Stella & Dot, was featured on the CBS reality show “Undercover Boss.”  I had the great fortune to put on an Urbandale in-home trunk show that featured our CEO, Jessica Herrin, in disguise.  She also joined me for coffee and conversation at Mars Café.
The episode, which aired Jan. 30, was an amazing ride, and I am one lucky stylist. As a single woman entrepreneur from Iowa it was a surprise, to say the least.
