In 2010, Chrissy and her then 14-year-old daughter, Bella Weems-Lambert, started the company as a way for Bella to buy a car once she turned 16. It has since become a global social selling company with over 45,000 independent business entrepreneurs, referred to as Designers.
In the new leadership position, Chrissy has big plans to lead with heart, while continuing to live the mission of Origami Owl: to love, inspire and motivate people of all ages to reach their dreams and empower them to make a difference in the lives of others.
“I’m committed to getting back to the basics of what made this company so successful—people first, creating a ripple effect of good, leading with intention, connecting people in meaningful ways,” Chrissy said. “In addition, we believe the youth are our future, and we are committed to giving them the tools they need to be successful.”
She said that the Origami Owl Owlette Program, which holds a special place in Bella’s heart, will move to the forefront once again. This program provides a unique opportunity for youth, ages 11–17, to work alongside their parent who is an Origami Owl Designer.

14 Year Old Founder Of 250 Million Dollar Company Shares What She Learned
by Tina Williams • • 0 Comments
Bella Weems founded Origami Owl when she was just 14 years old. Cosmopoliton magazine had an exclusive interview with her where she shares the 6 things she learned on the way to becoming a millionaire:
You wouldn’t normally take career advice from someone who can’t legally buy a drink yet, but maybe this time, you should. Bella Weems founded her own custom-jewelry company, Origami Owl, when she was just 14 and has since grown it into a multimillion-dollar business. Here, the young exec shares her secrets for success.
1. Ignore the Haters—Even the Ones You Love
Especially when you have an idea that seems risky or different from what everyone is doing, you’re going to hit some red lights. (Reminder: Those are generally the best ideas!) When people tell you not to go for it or give up when things get tough, remind yourself they’re doing so because “they think they are protecting you from failure,” says Bella. “They mean well, but you have to have faith in yourself for others to also.” Use their doubt as momentum. After all, without the risk of failure, there would be no such thing as success.
2. Establish Your Core Values
Whether they’re unwritten but etched in the back

$43 Million Invested Into Origami Owl
by Tina Williams • • 0 Comments
Gauge Capital has closed its first round of funding after raising $250 million.
The money, which exceeded Gauge’s fundraising goals, was accumulated through more than 15 investors, including endowments, institutional investors and CEOs. Co-founder and managing partnerDrew Johnson said he and his partners at Gauge made the most significant contributions to the fund.
With the cash, Gauge plans to invest in the food services, healthcare and business and consumer services sectors. Businesses must have $5 million to $50 million in earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortization, or EBIDTA. Gauge then makes investments of $10 million to $50 million in each company.
“Our goal has been to find companies in those sectors, make investments and generate exceptional returns,” Johnson said.
Gauge already has made a $43 million investment out of the fund in Origami Owl, a company that allows individuals to sell their own jewelry. Three additional investments are around the corner.
“We have one under letter of intent in the healthcare services space,” Johnson said, but added that he can’t give details yet.

Origami Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month With Bobbi Brown
by Tina Williams • • 0 Comments
Each year, Americans celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The month-long event allows both Hispanics (and non-Hispanics) to focus on their history, culture and contribution as American citizens whether their ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central or South America.
America, the great melting pot, has a rich history of many cultures. While some groups may abandon Old World customs and traditions after several generations, Hispanic culture is still very vibrant and influential. In addition to remembering and honoring all the historical, political and cultural contributions made to the U.S., Hispanic Heritage Month is also about celebrating yourself and the beauty of Latina women in particular.
I had the honor of attending a master makeup class at the Bobbi Brown offices in New York, taught byCassandra Garcia, who serves as Bobbi Brown’s editorial makeup artist. Women of all backgrounds were taught Garcia’s simple 10-step application plan, which she clarified should only serve to enhance your natural beauty instead of putting on a different face. The class turned into a true learning experience for me when Garcia asked if I could be the model for the demonstration.
Lacking any actual skills in terms of makeup application, I jumped at the opportunity and

A 15-year-old girl suburban Houston girl who survived an attack in which her parents and four younger siblings were killed says she’s on the road to recovery.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Cassidy Stay also thanked first responders Saturday during a gathering in her hometown of Spring to honor her and her family.
Stay was released from a hospital Friday, two days after the attack in which her skull was fractured by a bullet graze.
Authorities say her aunt’s ex-husband, Ronald Lee Haskell, stormed into the family’s home Wednesday and fatally shot her parents and four siblings, who ranged in age from 4 to 13 years old. They say Stay survived by playing dead and called police to warn that Haskell intended to go to her grandparents’ house next.
