Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot To Resign If He Fails
by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot is staking his entire 32-year career on his ability to break a world rowing record.
Last week, VanderSloot announced he was going to make an attempt at the record on Tuesday, Aug. 14 — his 70th birthday. But in a surprising company announcement today, VanderSloot says he intends to resign as CEO of Melaleuca if he fails to break the record.
“If I break the record, I think it will say that I’m young enough to stay at the helm of Melaleuca for, I’m hoping, another 10 to 20 years,” VanderSloot said in an interview with EastIdahoNews.com. “If not, maybe it’s evidence that I’m aging as rapidly as anyone else.”
VanderSloot will be competing in the 100-meter row using the Concept 2 Rower. He’s exercised on the machine for years in his home.
He must finish in under 15.3 seconds to claim the world record.
He says the only reason he’s able to compete is because of Melaleuca’s signature nutritional supplement product, the Peak Performance Pack. He believes this product has helped him not age as fast as even the most famous athletes his age.
“Melaleuca has a product that is changing so many lives around the world, and it’s time that

Melaleuca Achieves $2 Billion In Annual Sales
by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
On 26 December 2017, Melaleuca surpassed its first year of $2 billion in annual revenue.
Melaleuca first hit $1 billion in annual sales about six years ago. The company began in 1985.
Hundreds of Melaleuca, Inc. employees shot off thousands of strands of confetti Tuesday afternoon as they celebrated earning $2 billion in revenue for the first time.
Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot hosted a live Facebook broadcast as a large monitor tracked sales in real time leading up to $2 billion.
“We’ve been in great anticipation of this moment for many, many years and I just have to tell everyone thank you so much for the role you have played in getting us to this point,”
VanderSloot said during the broadcast. “This is just a milestone – it’s not a destination.”
VanderSloot said Melaleuca has been growing “like a rocket ship” over the past 24 months and pointed out that it took the company 19 years to make its first $500 million.
“Then it took us eight years to make our next $500 million, then five years to make $1.5 billion and it’s only taken us 14 months to get to two billion,” VanderSloot said. “We’ve never had this kind of growth.”
VanderSloot attributes Melaleuca’s growth to its employees and

Melaleuca Plane Packed With Generators On The Way To Puerto Rico
by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
A Melaleuca corporate plane packed full of generators and beef jerky products was on its way to hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico Monday evening.
Shelley-based Golden Valley Natural donated 2,000 pounds of jerky and Melaleuca purchased 17 generators, the maximum amount that could fit on the plane without it being overweight.
“The generosity of four companies really stood out to us. Golden Valley Jerky made a large donation. Rocknaks Hardware, Ron’s Tire and C-A-L Ranch donated large sums for generators out of their pockets,” Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot said. “We’ve learned the most generous folks are the people who can least afford it, honestly. It’s the local people.”
Melaleuca pilots will fly to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Monday night. On Tuesday morning, they will fly into Puerto Rico to drop the generators and jerky off. Puerto Rico’s entire power grid was knocked offline during Hurricane Maria and it could be four to six months before electricity is completely restored on the island where 3.4 million people live.
In addition to the generators, Melaleuca is donating approximately $300,000 in cash and products for hurricane relief.
Last month, the Idaho Falls-based company held a 10 hour community food drive for Hurricane Harvey victims living in Houston and enough items were collected to fill two semi-truck trailers.

Melaleuca CEO: USA Anti-Pyramid Measure Is Really A Pro-Pyramid Bill
by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
Frank VanderSloot is a board member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s executive committee and the founder and CEO of Melaleuca, a $1.75 billion health products manufacturer based in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
The Hill is a top US political website and Frank VanderSloot is one of the contributors and he published the next article:
We’ve all heard the phrase, “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” H.R. 3409, is exactly that. Crafted by the Direct Selling Association (DSA) and sponsored by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), H.R. 3409 has been inappropriately named the “Anti-Pyramid Promotional Scheme Act of 2017.”
In reality, this bill is anything but anti-pyramid. To the contrary, among other problems, it gives protection to pyramid schemes by redefining the term “pyramid scheme” in a way that allows almost any pyramid scheme to escape the definition.
We are not alone in that assessment. FTC Commissioner, Terrell McSweeney wrote that H.R. 3409 would “fundamentally damage the ability of the Federal Trade Commission to protect consumers from pyramid schemes” and “entirely stop the FTC from shutting down these kinds of scams.” Several reputable consumer organizations agree.
Blackburn had it right in her op-ed on Aug 28 when she wrote: “Every year, far too many unsuspecting Americans fall victim to pyramid schemes. Sold on

Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot Idaho’s Richest Person With $1.9 Billion
by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
According to an article in Forbes:
Idaho might supply a third of America’s potatoes, but you won’t find its richest resident among the state’s 325,000 acres of potato fields, or even in its capital city of Boise. He’s in Idaho Falls (pop. 60,211), running one of the nation’s largest online retail companies from his headquarters four miles from downtown.
Idaho’s wealthiest person, with an estimated net worth of $1.9 billion: Frank VanderSloot, the 68-year-old founder and CEO of Melaleuca, which bills itself as “the wellness company.”
Melaleuca manufactures more than 450 products ranging from vitamins and health supplements to environmentally-friendly household cleaners. It then sells them direct from the factory to more than 1.8 million consumers every month through its online store.
About two-thirds of customers simply buy products for personal use. But Melaleuca also offers commissions to those who want to refer customers of their own. Most just earn a 3-4% commission on goods purchased by people they have directly referred, but it’s possible — depending on how many people you have referred and how active a role you take in the company each month — to earn higher rates and commissions on purchases made by the Melaleuca customers referred to the business by

In the late 80’s, as a result of the recession and subsequent Real Estate collapse, I closed the family’s business, one of New England’s largest commercial window treatment applicators, that I was operating since I was in my twenties.
