It is possible to start a business in network marketing and find a home for the long term. Instead of being lured by the latest shiny object, Brian Carruthers stuck with his vision and commitment and built his LegalShield business since September 1998.
Here 24 years later, he has officially surpassed $25M in earnings. And there is no end in sight, because he just keeps on keeping on.
“I am grateful to have found a company that was not ground floor, but one that I believed in the mission and the endless opportunity. When I joined LegalShield it was 27 years old, and people in the industry said I had missed the boat, it was not ground floor. And that I would not make any money.
But to the contrary, I wanted a rock solid, proven company that was tapping into a ground floor industry. I wanted to be able to put my head on my pillow at night knowing that my company and my check will still be there every morning when I wake up.
The business model without physical products is a great fit for me, a subscription model that yields true residual income, and one in which I have

Jeff Bell is CEO of LegalShield, an USA based leading provider of affordable legal plans and identity theft solutions for individuals, families and small businesses, serving more than 4.2 million people across North America.
He has send the next open letter to the FTC:
When Federal Trade Commission Chairwoman Edith Ramirez steps down in a few days, we will remember her speech at the Direct Selling Association’s Business and Policy Conference in Washington last October, where she clearly laid out what it means to be operating a pyramid scheme.

by Ted Nuyten • • 0 Comments
After careful consideration, LegalShield has decided to discontinue its membership in the Direct Selling Association (DSA) and Jeff Bell, CEO, LegalShield, is resigning his board of director position.
LegalShield’s commitment to direct selling is stronger than ever; it is exiting the DSA due to concerns about the lack of enforcement of the DSA’s Code of Ethics for its members. As an example, the FTC filed lawsuits against Vemma Nutrition Company, a DSA member, and other companies, such as Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing.
The DSA failed to enforce its own Code of Ethics against either company. Furthermore, the DSA admitted to membership Nerium International, which has active litigation with LegalShield involving claims of cross-recruiting and infringement of intellectual property and trade secrets.
LegalShield feels the DSA does not stand up for or strictly enforce
