Banners Broker CEO Chris Smith And Rajiv Dixit Arrested In Canada

 
The Mass Marketing Section of the Toronto Police Service Financial Crimes Unit is a member of the Toronto Strategic Partnership against Cross-Border Fraud.
The partnership represents a combined enforcement strategy, specializing in the investigation of mass marketing fraud in, or originating from within the province of, Ontario with cross-border implications.
In January 2013, the Financial Crimes Unit started an investigation into an alleged pyramid scheme.
The Toronto Police Service was assisted by investigators from the RCMP, Competition Bureau of Canada, Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, Ministry of Finance, U.S. Federal Trade Commission, FINTRAC, and the Canada Revenue Agency.
It is alleged that:
– Between October 2010 and March 2013, a pyramid scheme known as “Banners Broker” was operated out of a Church Street address in Toronto

CAbi To Enter Canada

 
CAbi, one of the largest direct sale women’s apparel businesses in the U.S., is entering the Canadian market this week.
The Canadian market will include all provinces, except for Quebec, and represents the first foray outside of the U.S. for the 14-year-old company. CAbi — Carol Anderson by invitation — was cofounded by Kimberly Inskeep, who is president and chief culture officer, designer Carol Anderson and 10 other individuals.
CAbi was acquired three years ago by two private equity firms, J. H. Whitney & Co. and Irving Place Capital.
Rick Perkal, a senior adviser at Irving Place, said the model was an attractive one because it was about “women helping other women feel better about themselves.” He said if the Canadian expansion goes well, the company would consider bringing the brand to other English-speaking countries.

DXN Recalling Products in Canada

 
Daehsan Canada Inc, the Canadian affiliate of Malaysian Direct Selling giant DXN Global is recalling it’s DXN brand of instant coffee products from the marketplace because they contain milk which is not declared on the label.
This recall was triggered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) inspection activities. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.
Daehsan Canada has issued an announcement to the public to inform people with an allergy to milk to not consume the products. It has also asked distributors to not sell or use the recalled products.
The following products have been sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and may have been sold in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Isagenix Combats Weakening Canadian Dollar By Lowering Prices

 
Isagenix recently released a memo discussing how they’ve combatted the weakening Canadian dollar:

At Isagenix, we have always believed that “If it’s not right for the Associates, it’s not right for the company.”

In recent months, the value of the Canadian dollar has weakened significantly against the U.S. dollar, meaning our Canadian customers and Associates have seen the price of their Isagenix products rise by about 13 percent over last year.
To correct this, and provide more stability in the future, we have implemented a global foreign exchange policy.
And, effective immediately, we have rolled back Canadian pricing to 2014 levels by applying a 13 percent discount at the time of order!
