AdvoCare International, L.P. has officially opened for business in Canada. The Plano, Texas-based health and wellness company launched its Canadian operations on September 5, bringing weight management and sports performance products and business opportunities to the Canadian market.

AdvoCare enters the Canadian market with seven products. The company has announced that Marcia Cota will serve as AdvoCare Canada General Manager. Cota is a 20-year direct sales veteran.

AdvoCare Appoints Brett Blake As CEO

AdvoCare International, L.P. today announced the promotion of Brett Blake to Chief Executive Officer, replacing industry-veteran Brian Connolly who served as interim-CEO during the extensive executive search.
Connolly will continue to work closely with Brett serving as Executive Chairman of the Board.
Blake, who was hired in October to serve as President of Global Sales and Strategic Planning has demonstrated his commitment to the AdvoCare Brand and the 600,000 Independent Distributors and Preferred Customers.
Brett will continue to serve those functions in addition to the added responsibility of CEO. When asked to comment, Blake said

AdvoCare Distributors File Lawsuit

According to USA – based magazine The Dallas News 2 former distributors of nutritional supplements from AdvoCare filed suit this week in federal court claiming they lost thousands of dollars in the deal and alleging that the sales program is essentially a pyramid scheme:
Lisa Ranieri of Virginia and Megan Cornelius of California said they each “lost thousands of dollars trying to be a successful distributor,” according to the suit, filed in the Northern District of Texas.
Lindsay Bomar, an AdvoCare spokeswoman, said the company “unequivocally [is] not operating a pyramid scheme.”
“We vehemently dispute all of the claims” about the product and the business model. AdvoCare, a big supporter of NASCAR racing, sells nutritional and weight-loss supplements through direct marketing. That’s a business model in which distributors are paid in part based on

MLS Names Advocare As New Official Sports Nutrition Partner

AdvoCare International, LP (AdvoCare), a premier health and wellness company, today announced a multiyear partnership with Major League Soccer (MLS) to be the league’s Official Sports Nutrition Partner.
This new relationship is the largest sports partnership and the first League partnership for AdvoCare, as the company further establishes itself as a leader in the Sports Nutrition space.
The sponsorship is effective beginning the 2015 MLS season and extends through the 2019 season. As part of the agreement, AdvoCare Rehydrate will be the Official Sports Drink of Major League Soccer and will be featured on the sidelines of MLS games. Advocare Moves Into New Location

AdvoCare International, LP (AdvoCare), a premier health and wellness company, today announced the opening of its Richardson-based distribution center, located at 2800 Telecom Parkway. The new 260,000-square-foot distribution center will house office space and a warehouse facility, as well as a customer care call center.
This facility expansion generated 79 new jobs for the community. “AdvoCare has seen tremendous growth in recent years and the opening of the AdvoCare Distribution Center will allow us to not only contribute to our local community with more jobs, but provide the best service to our Independent distributors and customers,” said Allison Levy, Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, AdvoCare.
In total, more than 100 employees will be located at the new AdvoCare Distribution Center, including the Quality Assurance and Control department. The new staff and greater space will also allow AdvoCare to accommodate an additional 1,500 calls per day, providing the best service to its Independent Distributors and customers nationwide.
Approximately 150 employees will continue to be based at the company’s corporate headquarters, located at 2801 Summit Avenue in Plano, where the Will Call location will remain. Plano-based AdvoCare International, a health and wellness company, recently announced it has secured the naming rights of a new professional sports practice facility located at The Greenbrier, an award-winning resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. Officially named the AdvoCare Sports Performance Center, the facility is the new training camp home for the New Orleans professional football team.
