Live Events Are Back—And They’re Still The Fastest Way To Build In Direct Sales

OPINION | By Monico Perez, CEO of Monico Perez Productions
Live Events = Real Connection + Momentum
I’ve had the privilege of producing events all over the world.
And no matter what company, country, or comp plan —
it’s always the same:
When people come together in person, belief skyrockets.
Leaders are born.
Stories are shared that no algorithm can deliver.
The energy in the room does something that no PowerPoint ever could.
I’ve watched shy introverts become confident recruiters.
I’ve seen someone sitting in the back row one year be the keynote the next.
That doesn’t happen by accident. That happens by proximity and presence.

Events Aren’t Just for Training—They’re for Duplication
You don’t build a business just by learning.
You build it by showing others what’s possible—and helping them feel like they belong.
Live events give your team a place to plug in, grow, and duplicate.
When you bring people into that environment, they don’t just hear information—they catch belief.
And belief is what makes people stay.
If You’re Smart, You’re Not Just Attending Events… You’re Building to Them
The top leaders I’ve worked with didn’t just show up to events.
They built to them.
They treated events like launchpads, not just dates on a calendar.
They used them to:

Recognize new teammates

Launch new products

Fire up momentum going into the next

The 3rd Language

OPINION | By Ryan D. Chamberlin, Member of the Florida House of Representatives and 30-Year Direct Sales Industry Veteran
Protecting Our Future. Protecting Our Industry.
If you were fortunate enough to be a part of the Direct Sales industry 30 years ago and you are still here today, it is for one simple reason:You caught a vision, and you’re still holding onto it.
That vision, however, for most, has been blurred through recent trends. There has even been a question sometimes of whether the industry would survive.
It is my belief that it will — and that it can be bigger than ever.
In order to do so, however, this generation of companies will have to embrace what I call “The 3 Languages.”
Language 1: Field Language
The first is the common language known as “Field Language.”
This is the language of leadership, recognition, community — and how it is projected properly from a field leader’s perspective. Anyone that has built large organic teams for a long period knows exactly what I’m talking about.
For over two decades I had the opportunity to build and sustain large organizations within our industry, and I’m here to tell you that this is a language that most owners get frustrated with —

Should You Bother Attending a Company Generic Network Marketing Event?

OPINION | By Ray Higdon, Industry Trainer, Founder of Rank Makers
First of all, I want to share that those of you who know me know that I have actually run a generic network marketing event for 11 years — most recently branded Faith Over Fear. This article is NOT about attending one of my events — just want to make that clear from the get-go!
But the question is serious:

Should you bother attending a generic network marketing event?

Today I will share why I believe the answer is a resounding YES, and the event I highly suggest you attend.
Let’s Be Honest
The network marketing profession is awesome.
You can make as much money as you want with very little overhead, and it’s created residual income for so many people who might never have experienced that otherwise. But the profession has had a rough go over the last few years.
Let’s not list all the companies that have either shut their doors or transitioned out of the model — there are too many.
Let’s not write out all the things that aren’t perfect about the profession — and there are many.
Let’s instead continue to answer the question of attending a generic network marketing event.
Why Attend?
First of all

How to Build Generational Wealth: A Message from the CEO of The Super Patch Company

OPINION | By Jay Dhaliwal, Founder & CEO, The Super Patch Company
Today, I want to speak candidly—not just as a CEO or entrepreneur—but as someone who’s spent the better part of three decades building, investing, and creating extraordinary wealth. Not the kind of wealth born from luck or privilege, but the kind that’s built from pattern recognition, courage, and conviction. This is not just a story about money. This is a story about vision. About legacy. About how you can position yourself—right now—to build generational wealth.
Let me take you on a brief journey through my own path and show you how we got here.
Step 1: Learn to See Around the Corner
If there’s one truth that has governed the last 30 years of wealth creation, it’s this:
Technology is the single greatest generator of wealth in human history.
To build true wealth, you need to master one fundamental skill: see the trend before it becomes obvious. Be early. Be curious. Be confident.
I learned this lesson young. Coming out of school, I watched as the software revolution exploded. Then, in 1996, something incredible happened—the Internet went public. Suddenly, everything was going online. It was clear to me that this massive influx of data and

“For Such A Time As This…”

OPINION | By Donna Johnson, ANMP Ethics Committee Chair
There are moments in history when silence is no longer an option.
This is one of those moments.
As Al Bala so passionately shared in his recent article, the abrupt closure of Modere, Rodan+Fields, Beachbody and others continues to send shockwaves through our profession. But these events aren’t just about a few companies’ collapse. It’s a seismic alert — exposing deep cracks formed by the intrusion of short-term, profit-driven entities who have no regard for the legacy, values, or people of Network Marketing.
The erosion of our compensation model, the abandonment of mentorship and residual income, and the “shiny object syndrome” that lures companies into transactional affiliate models — all of these are symptoms of a deeper issue: disunity and distraction.
We are circling the wagons and, worse, sometimes shooting inward.
As Chair of the Ethics Committee for the ANMP, and someone who has devoted decades to this profession, I say with urgency and love: We must do better. We must stop operating in silos, protect the sacred trust we’ve built, and unify our voice before it’s fractured beyond recognition.
A Lesson from Outside Our Profession
Last year, I had the opportunity to speak at the ANMP Annual

Back To the Future—This Year’s ANMP Convention Is the New Tipping Point

OPINION | By Tom Chenault
The March 1992 issue of SUCCESS magazine was the first major national publication to give positive—much less enthusiastic—coverage to Network Marketing. (They still called it Multi-Level Marketing back then.) The headline was “We Create Millionaires.”
That edition outsold every other issue in the magazine’s storied near 100-year history.
It was a Tipping Point.
That flat-out endorsement of Network Marketing as a major league player in free enterprise from an esteemed business magazine helped establish our legitimate business model. We went from the “black sheep of business” to a respected leading-edge profession.
SUCCESS Magazine Cover, March 1992
A New Tipping Point is Coming
There’s another Tipping Point like that coming.
This August. In Dallas.
At this year’s Annual ANMP 2025 International Convention.
As ANMP board member Alfredo Bala wrote— and I love this line like crazy:

“The ANMP Annual Convention is essential for the future of Network Marketing.”

Why? Because it’s a “Back To the Future” moment for our profession. And the people who are leading this shift—a transition that looks a lot like a transformation—will all be there. And so, should you.
Remembering What Made Us Great
Our industry was built on a foundation of human connection. People-to-People. Belly-to-Belly. Eye-to-Eye.
It wasn’t about algorithms or automation. It was about relationships, friendships, partnerships… and

Now More Than Ever: Why the ANMP Is Essential for the Future of Network Marketing

OPINION | By Alfredo Bala
A Seismic Moment for Network Marketing
In the past few weeks, the network marketing community witnessed a seismic moment: Modere, a company that stood for innovation and clean living for over 23 years, shut its doors — abruptly and without warning. Thousands of distributors were left stunned, disoriented, and searching for what’s next.
If you’ve spent any time in this industry, you know what that moment really represents: a call to action.
Because this wasn’t just about one company.
It was about the unchecked rise of venture capital and private equity firms entering our space with short-term gain mindsets, prioritizing profits over people, and dismantling business models that were built on relationships, long-term community, and trust.
And it’s not just about Modere.
It’s about the growing wave of companies abandoning the network marketing model altogether in favor of transactional affiliate systems—where duplication, mentorship, and residual income are sacrificed for the illusion of simplicity and speed.
This Is Why the ANMP Exists — And Why Its Annual Convention Has Never Mattered More.
The Association of Network Marketing Professionals (ANMP) was founded to protect, elevate, and unify the voice of this industry — an industry that has changed millions of lives, created untold wealth, and fostered
