Utility Warehouse Announces Record Organic Growth in 2023

Utility Warehouse (UW) recently announced its final results for the full year, ending March 31, 2023. Revenues during this time grew to $3.1 billion, up from $1.2 billion in 2022. Adjusted pre-tax profit was up by 55% and adjusted EPS increased by 57%.
The company announced record organic growth in its operations, including a 22% increase in customers.
UW’s total customer base now number 886,579, compared to 728,680 in 2022. There was also a 24% increase in the number of services supplied, which now total 2.8 million, as opposed to 2.3 million in 2022. Partner numbers increased 25% to 60,000 and insurance business more than doubled to 100,000 policies.
“This has been an outstanding year for the company: the fundamental strengths of our business model have reasserted themselves and delivered a strong outcome for all our stakeholders— particularly for our customers who benefitted from the lowest energy prices in the country throughout the year, saving over £30m on their bills,”
said UW Co-CEOs Andrew Lindsay and Stuart Burnett in a joint statement.

USANA Reports Second Q2 Sales of $238 Million

USANA Health Sciences (NYSE: USNA) recently announced its financial results for the second fiscal quarter ending July 1, 2023.
The company achieved second quarter net sales of $238 million during this period, compared to $264 million in the second quarter of 2022. Diluted EPS was $0.89, down from $1 in the second quarter of 2022. The company’s active customers totaled 487,000, a 13% decline from the same quarter of 2022, and a 1% decline sequentially.
The Asia Pacific region led as the strongest market for the company, with $194 million in net sales and 384,000 active customers, representing an 11% and 12% decline respectively from the second quarter of 2022. Americas and Europe accounted for $44 million in net sales and 103,000 active customers.
“Our strategic focus remains squarely on increasing the number of Active Customers,”
said Jim Brown, USANA President and Chief Executive Officer.
“In addition to the emphasis on in-person meetings and events, our efforts include new market expansion, incentive opportunities for our salesforce, the ongoing pursuit of accretive acquisition opportunities, and expanding our digital commerce capabilities.
We remain optimistic that the successful execution of our strategies will position USANA for a return to long-term growth.”

This Plastic Free July, QNET Partners with VeryNile to Take On Plastic Waste in the River Nile

Global lifestyle and wellness-focused direct selling company QNET joined hands with the VeryNile foundation to clean and protect the vital waterways of the River Nile as part of its commitment to upholding sustainable values via its people and projects.
The joint initiative also supports the livelihoods of local communities and aligns with the global Plastic Free July movement, which focuses on plastic reduction campaigns that successfully stop around 300 million kilogrammes of plastic from polluting the environment each year. 
The VeryNile initiative focused on Qursaya Island, where the ancient river flows between the modern metropolises of Giza and Cairo. Approximately 250 families from low-income backgrounds live and work here, keeping the centuries-old fishing tradition on the Nile alive.
However, the rise in pollution is threatening the rich heritage of the world’s longest river and the many livelihoods it supports, to the point where the Nile is one of the top rivers contributing to 90 per cent of plastic waste entering the world’s oceans today.
