Amway Korea Flaunts Regulations, Receives Slap On The Wrist

Ammway Korea (CEO Park Sae-joon), the largest multi-level marketing company, received correctional orders from the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) for flaunting the regulations set for multi-level marketing companies. However, the FTC has also been criticized for handing out a too-light punishment.
Unilateral Arrogance
According to the FTC on July 29, Amway forced its salespersons who resell Amway products to not sell products cheaper than a stated purchase price. If any salesperson violated this order, they were temporarily disqualified from conducting any sales activities. Disqualified salespersons are not eligible for support allowances, usually paid depending on each person’s sales performance and that of their subordinate salespersons. Disqualified salespersons can no longer recruit subordinates, either.
This is a clear violation of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act (Section 21). Amway salespersons are not employees of the multi-level marketing company, but are considered to be independent retail distributors. Accordingly, salespersons can legally dispose of products they buy from the company via any method, including price discounts. This possibly helps consumers buy daily necessities at lower prices.

The FTC gave Amway corrective orders to stop the price fixing activities and delete the relevant clause from their sales guidelines. The FTC said, “Amway deprived consumers of the opportunity

Ambit Energy Introduces Power Payback

Ambit Energy, a leading national retail energy provider, is introducing its Power Payback program to reward Texas customers who reduce energy use during periods of extreme electricity demand. The program provides users with bill credit if they reduce their consumption during designated time periods.
“We’ve already rewarded our customers for making referrals with our Free Energy program,” said Ambit Energy Co-Founder and CEO Jere Thompson, Jr. “It seemed like a logical next step to also pay them back when they help reduce the strain on the power grid during periods of extreme electricity demand.”
Under the program, customers in Texas who have Smart Meters will receive advance notification of an impending period of extreme electricity demand. They then have the opportunity to cut back on their electricity use during the specified time. If their electricity usage during this time is lower than their average from the same time period over the previous five weekdays, they receive a bill credit of $1.00 for every kilowatt-hour saved.
“Power Payback is the easiest and most generous program of its kind in the Texas market,” Thompson says. “In fact, with automatic enrollment, our customers don’t even have to sign up. These simple savings come in the form of $1.00 per kilowatt-hour bill

Brig Hart Goes Public As An Owner Of The Healthy Home Company

Brig Hart unveiled today that he is an owner of the Healthy Home Company. The Healthy Home Company launched in January 2014 with twelve products and after several acquisitions and joint ventures now has over 100 products made from organic, ToxicFree®, EcoCert and all-natural ingredients.
Brig and several partners are focused on pioneering a new space they call Direct Retailing, combining the best practices from one-to-one marketing with a membership buying club to offer premium quality products at retail competitive prices.  This direct retailing approach has proven successful, as the company has broken two Diamond Executive ranked members in its first six months and brought over 20 couples to Belize in July, its first Gold incentive trip.  Several dozen members have already achieved ranks from Bronze level through Ruby.
The Healthy Home model uses word of mouth advertising to compete directly with large organic grocery stores, vitamin shops, all-natural products companies and specialty online businesses. Healthy Home pays active members a 10% commission for referring others to join the club based on everything they purchase, and uniquely for as long as they purchase products.
Members who wish to upgrade their membership and become certified Healthy Home Professional Representatives can earn a
