Recently, Kevin Thompson, THe MLM Attorney,  covered in an article that Avon withdrew from the DSA because they’re dissatisfied with the direction the organization is heading.
Now, Kevin Thompson responds to the withdrawal and what it could mean.

To our U.S. direct selling colleagues,
At Avon, we strongly believe in the power of direct selling to enhance people’s lives. Our entire business model is based on our commitment to helping women build better lives for themselves and their families. And we know that multi-level marketing, in some markets and with the appropriate guardrails, is a robust and effective channel for distributing products to consumers.
As you may be aware, this week Avon made the decision to exit the U.S. DSA. This decision came after careful consideration and more than a year of thoughtful discussion. This decision was driven by two key issues:
• We believe the association’s agenda in the U.S. is overly focused on the issues of a few specific brands rather than industry-wide challenges.

• We believe that the U.S. DSA Code of Ethics requires updating to better reflect the current state of the industry in the U.S.
As the U.S. DSA is currently operating, we do not believe that either of these issues will be addressed.

Vemma Honored With Two Additional Stevie Awards

 
Vemma Nutrition Company was presented with two Stevie® Awards in the 12th Annual American Business Awards which took place in San Francisco on Friday, September 12.

This year’s American Business Awards were presented at two awards events. Awards for marketing, customer service, human resources, and other disciplines were announced in Chicago in June.

Amway Restructures Compensation Plan – Thailand Laws Create Challenges

 
Amway (Thailand) Ltd has raised its sales incentive budget by 10% to 6 billion baht to attract new distributors to the direct-selling network in a bid to resume positive sales growth in fiscal 2015, which started on Sept 1. 
Amway yesterday unveiled its long-term compensation plan that will give business owners higher income and incentives with steady growth. Effective since Sept 1, the new compensation for owners from beginners to organisation leaders focuses on a balance between increasing income and career competitiveness.
Kittawat Ritteerawee, the company’s managing director, said this is the first in 27 years that Amway Thailand is offering a new attractive income and incentive deal to its business owners. The move is supposed to motivate owners to build solid, long-term growth for their business teams and Amway.
The new incentive restructuring comprises two compensation plans. Firstly, the standard compensation plan based on the original business model Amway has been using globally for 55 years.
It gives owners certain compensations based on their sales performance and level of achievement.

Youngevity Announces Closing of Private Placement Offering

Ambit Energy Launches New Product

 
Ambit Energy, a leading national retail energy provider, is launching two new energy management tools so Texas residential customers with a smart meter can view their energy usage, estimate monthly charges and take steps to conserve energy.
The program includes a weekly email, the Ambit Energy Advisor, which includes a weekly usage summary, a projected monthly usage summary and an estimated monthly billing amount. In addition, customers can view a more detailed report online when they log in to their MyAmbit Account Usage Summary. T-Mobile MVNO Solavei Plans To Launch ‘Phase 2′ On Oct. 1

 
T-Mobile US MVNO Solavei plans to launch its “phase two” services on Oct. 1, said CEO Ryan Wuerch. He said phase two would include a new compensation scheme, a refined focus on the Hispanic market and new offerings on its Solavei Marketplace program.
Wuerch declined to provide exact details on phase two. He said the new compensation program would be rolled out to current Solavei customers during the next several weeks now and that the company would publicly announce the changes at the beginning of next month.
Although Wuerch declined to provide many details around the company’s plans for the Hispanic market, he said that fully 70 percent of the company’s new customers last month were Hispanic and Solavei is working to entice additional customers in that demographic. As for the company’s Solavei Marketplace, which it launched in September 2013, Wuerch said the company plans to integrate payments and rewards more tightly into the system, and to allow users to easily enter their existing credit cards into the Marketplace in order to more easily receive discounts and rebates.
