Malaysia’s Elken Wins Two Awards

Malaysian direct selling company Elken has been honored with two awards, the 2015 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Home Water Filter Customer Service Leadership and Product Line Strategy Leadership Awards.
The awards were presented to Elken at the 2015 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards banquet, held at the Conrad Centennial Singapore yesterday.
Ms. Janice Wung, Industry Analyst, Energy & Environment Practice, Asia Pacific at Frost & Sullivan said that Elken has positioned itself competitively with the various market strategies and organized channels in place.

“On top of its excelling position in customer service leadership, Elken has ensured continuous emphasis on customer value optimization through its product excellence,” she added.

Direct Selling Defense Fund Announced

The Direct Selling Defense Fund is trust account by Coppersmith Brockelman and will be used for the legal defense of Vemma vs the FTC.
Cost for legal defense is estimated around $2 million….
Most large law firms in the United States bill between $200 and $1,000 per hour for their lawyers’ time.
The danger for other Network marketing companies is the nature of the attack on Vemma. Vemma have been hit hard on “auto-ship” and “auto-ship commission qualification” a policy that has products automatically shipped to a distributor unless he or she opts out in advance.
Secondly the FTC attacks the binary compensation plan in a recent hearing, there fore the Direct Selling Industry is under attack.

Indian Parliamentary Panel Proposes Model Central Law To Curb Ponzis

To protect people from ponzi schemes, a Parliamentary panel has suggested framing of a model central law with clear cut definitions to curb illegal money pooling activities done in the garb of direct selling.
Moreover, it said, the model law needs to define the scope of schemes in “unambiguous and specific terms” as broad definition of ‘money circulation’ has scope for large-scale circumventing by unscrupulous operators.
There have been rising instances of gullible investors getting cheated by fraudulent investment schemes that mostly offer high returns within a short period of time.
