Avon Raises $4 Million For Cancer Research

The 12th annual Avon Walk for Breast Cancer season continued in San Francisco this weekend, raising $4 million to accelerate breast cancer research;  improve access to screening, diagnosis and treatment; and educate people about breast cancer.
The Avon Walk San Francisco – the fifth of eight 2014 Avon Walks across the country – attracted 1,800 participants from 37 states, Washington, D.C. and France. In addition, 238 breast cancer survivors and 301 men joined together to raise lifesaving funds for breast cancer.
During the Closing Ceremony at Fort Mason, Kristin Crosland, a breast cancer survivor and first time Avon Walker, shared her breast cancer journey with fellow walkers, volunteers, family and friends. “My 18-month breast cancer journey has had its Lifetime Television for Women melodrama moments.
I have late stage disease, I received a quick death sentence from my first doctor, battled a life threatening blood clot, and have endured the heartache of some pretty dicey CT scans,” Crosland shared. “But I have come to realize that despite all of this, I am one of the fortunate ones.  I have received first rate medical care.  I have the love and support of so many people from near and far.  And this weekend, I

“I was introduced to Zija in 2013 and it has been a life-changing experience in terms of health and wealth!
First I would just like to thank God for this ‘miracle tree,’ Moringa oleifera, and for this amazing opportunity. I would also like to thank Kenneth Brailsford for stepping out of retirement and doing this again for people like us. Thank you to the Zija corporate staff for all they do every single day and for the sacrifices they make.
I just want to say a very special ‘thanks’ to my wife, Martha, and to my children for supporting and helping me throughout this experience. This truly would not have been possible without the help of my wife, who reaches out to the team every day. We do this as a family, sharing a vision of where we’re going. Thanks again to my whole family for being in unity with this.
Many thanks to Kevin Mullens for all he does every day for our team and also to our entire amazing team; without them we would not have been able to advance to Black Diamond!

Herbalife Donates To Groups That Want To Destroy It

Facing a massive public relations campaign against it, the nutrition sales company Herbalife has adopted an intriguing strategy in recent months: Donating to local chapters of the Latino rights nonprofit whose national leadership is seeking its demise.
The Herbalife donations have sparked controversy within the charity, the League of United Latin American Citizens, the nation’s oldest and biggest Latino rights group with 1,000 chapters in the United States and Puerto Rico. LULAC is holding its ritzy week-long annual convention at the Hilton in midtown Manhattan this week, featuring appearances from Mayor Bill de Blasio and Michelle Obama, and boasting some 20,000 attendees.
Dissent has been brewing over the LULAC leadership’s aggressive fight against Herbalife, and questions about whether it fits into the broader mission of the nonprofit, founded in 1929, to fight discrimination against Hispanics. LULAC’s muscular response has been to crack down on Herbalife’s attempts to donate money to LULAC’s cash-starved state chapters.
“Frankly speaking, no, I don’t think that LULAC should be involved in this,” said Elia Mendoza, LULAC’s Texas state director. “We’ve got much bigger things to worry about.”
Herbalife’s donations came as the The New York Times reported in March that William Ackman, the founder of Pershing Square Capital Management, had placed a

An Origami Owl Family Suffers Great Tragedy

A 15-year-old girl suburban Houston girl who survived an attack in which her parents and four younger siblings were killed says she’s on the road to recovery.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Cassidy Stay also thanked first responders Saturday during a gathering in her hometown of Spring to honor her and her family.
Stay was released from a hospital Friday, two days after the attack in which her skull was fractured by a bullet graze.
Authorities say her aunt’s ex-husband, Ronald Lee Haskell, stormed into the family’s home Wednesday and fatally shot her parents and four siblings, who ranged in age from 4 to 13 years old. They say Stay survived by playing dead and called police to warn that Haskell intended to go to her grandparents’ house next.

Soccer Champion, Bruce Grobbelaar, Turns To Visalus

Bruce Grobbelaar, a Visalus Promoter and legendary goalkeeper for the world-renowned soccer team Liverpool FC, knows a thing or two about winning championships. For example, at Liverpool he won six First Division Leagues, three FA Cups, three League Cups, and one European Cup.
However, after retirement he faced a new challenge: being overweight. But the winning attitude that guided him through his soccer career, plus the support from the Visalus Community, helped him get back to his normal weight—and back to the soccer field.
Bruce has been an athlete all his life. “Growing up we played all sports,” says Bruce. “It was cricket and baseball in the summer, and hockey and football in the winter.” At the age of 19, he was offered a baseball scholarship in the U.S., but his passion for soccer was above everything else. And it didn’t take long before he was offered his first professional contract.
After a couple of seasons playing for the Vancouver Whitecaps and Alexandra Crewe, Bruce took the biggest step in his career:  He accepted an opportunity at Liverpool FC.
However, it wasn’t easy. The first six months were very rocky for him. There was a lot of pressure, and he knew that if he continued

Thirty-One Gifts Grows Over 1000% And Targets $1 Billion Mark

Thirty-One Gifts founder Cindy Monroe on the secrets to her success.
Cindy Monroe had a pretty good year in 2009. Her direct sales company, Thirty-One Gifts, brought in $38 million in revenue.
But 2013 was much, much better. That year, Thirty-One Gifts pulled in $760 million.
No, there’s no typo in that last sentence. Monroe grew her business 1,900 percent in four years, with the help of 110,000 consultants in the U.S. and Canada.
The question you’re probably asking now is, How did she do it? It’s a good one, and of course one that doesn’t have a straight-line answer.
So let’s break down the major business decisions that got her to where she is today:
She launched: Monroe, 39, started her business 10 years ago. She was working in insurance and had noticed a bunch of boutiques popping up in her town in Tennessee. The shops had unique products and out-of-the-box gifts, but they all closed at 6 p.m. Monroe had two small children to get home to at night and could never find the time for a shopping trip.
During college, Monroe had worked as a rep selling Pampered Chef products, so she knew how the direct-sales business worked. She also knew no one had really tried it with fashion.

Mynt Records $3 Million In Product Sales Since Pre-Launch

Mynt announces that it has surpassed $3 million in product sales since its April 19 pre-launch. The official launch of mynt is currently set for January 2015 in North America.
“One of the ways mynt is doing things right is through its culture of having fun and unique sense of community,” says Brandon Carter, director of mynt. “Many of the standard and time-tested network marketing practices—such as holding in-person or virtual meetings with team members—are certainly intact with mynt, but the atmosphere is completely different. It’s fun, casual and comfortable, but it also gets results.”
As evidenced by its product sales and an increasing number of brand promoters joining the company, the mynt products and compensation plan are being well received.
mynt does things differently to get different results. One way they do this is through “mynt moments.” “mynt moments are our humanitarian deeds and acts, and it’s the biggest part about what mynt is as a network marketing company,” says Carter. “All over the country, every single day, people are participating in these random acts of kindness. In fact, we encourage everyone to see what they’re all about by searching the hashtag #myntmoments on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.” Most of all, mynt
