Lesa Franken has been working for Mary Kay for almost 35 years. She has been a sales director for nearly 30 years. On June 30, she picked up her 13th pink Cadillac, a 2017 Cadillac XT5.
Each Mary Kay career car has a two-year lease, which has allowed Franken to drive a total of 18 career cars in her time with the company.
Franken, an independent executive senior sales director, has been named to Mary Kay’s National Queens Court of Personal Shares 16 times, earning a diamond ring for selling at least $40,000 of merchandise. She also has been part of the National Queens Court of Personal Sharing twice, earning a diamond bumblebee for her team building.
Franken and her team of consultants have been recognised in Mary Kay’s Circle of Achievement for selling at least $300,000 of merchandise as a unit. Franken and her consultants once won a trip to Germany for selling $650,000 worth of Mary Kay products.
In her career, Franken has been awarded Star Consultant prizes 129 times. This is awarded based on sales of $1,800 or more in a quarterly period. Despite her long history of high achieving, Franken isn’t just in it for the prizes.

Mary Kay Awards $1.3M In Grants To Women’s Cancer Research

The Mary Kay Foundation recently announced the recipients of its annual cancer research grants, which the foundation has awarded since its inception 20 years ago.
Research of cancers affecting women is one of two causes championed by The Mary Kay Foundation, the other being prevention and awareness of domestic violence.
To improve knowledge of the disease, which is the second leading cause of death in women, Mary Kay awards $100,000 grants to top medical schools and research facilities across the country.

Mary Kay Attracts Increasingly Young, Diverse Consultants In 2015

Mary Kay Inc. reports an increasing number of young women starting their own Mary Kay businesses. Women ages 18-34 accounted for 47 percent of new consultants in 2015, according to statistics released by the cosmetics company.
“These young women are tech-savvy and digitally connected. They’re looking for flexibility and not a 9 to 5, one-size-fits-all position,” Mary Kay’s Vice President of U.S. Marketing, Sara Friedman, said in a statement.
“A Mary Kay business can be customized to each person’s individual goals, and our company’s established social media presence and leading-edge digital technology have also proven to be attractive business-building tools.”
Friedman’s sentiments echo the findings of Amway’s 2015 Global Entrepreneurship Report, an in-depth look at the state of entrepreneurship around the world.

Mary Kay To Build $100 Million Manufacturing Site in Texas

Direct sales giant Mary Kay has earmarked a new site North Texas, as the location for its new $100 million manufacturing site.
Following the announcement in October that they were to build a new R&D manufacturing facility, the company scouted numerous locations before deciding on the site in Lewisville. Reasons behind the site choice included employee and logistical issues, such as public transport, employee drive time, and proximity to the company’s existing facilities.
The announcement is the result of intense internal evaluation to determine whether to improve current manufacturing operations and research and development of Mary Kay Inc. in Dallas or build a new facility to house both operations.
