ACN’s Cleveland Event Generates Millions For Host City

ACN Inc, the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and other essential services hosted its International Training Event in Cleveland, Ohio, September 12-14. This event drew thousands of Independent Business Owners from many of the company’s 24 countries for three days of training, motivation and networking opportunities.
But this event left an even greater impact on the city of Cleveland and surrounding areas.  With hotels and restaurants packed, city officials estimate ACN’s events bring millions into the local economy in just three days time.  And while impacting the local economy is certainly icing on the cake for this company, it’s the children and the clown that are the heart and soul of ACN.
During the Cleveland Event, and at each of ACN’s events worldwide, the company collects donations for the local chapter of the Ronald McDonald House and then matches those donations dollar for dollar, presenting a check at the close of the event.
“At ACN, giving back is all part of who we are – it’s in our DNA,” said ACN Chairman and Co-Founder Robert Stevanovski  “We believe that we have a corporate responsibility to leave these communities a little better off than when we arrived.”
On Sunday, September 14, just as

Herbalife Plans To Expand It’s Partnership With Youth Soccer Organization

Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) proposed a plan to launch a new, healthy-living nutrition program “Fit from the Sidelines” in collaboration with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO).
The plan intends to outline, educate, and instruct families about the significance of living an active and healthy life. Last week, the company announced it plans to launch the nutrition program in Canada.
The program extends Herbalife’s six-year partnership with the soccer organization. The partnership with AYSO is another step to target the younger lot of individuals. The leading global nutrition firm has been investing a lot lately in product innovation and relationship-building with the community.
Amid all the havoc created due to allegations put forward surrounding the company’s business model, where Bill Ackman blames the company for practicing pyramid schemes, this partnership indicates that the management is determined to keep growing bigger and is not fretting about any activist investors trying to defame the company.
The new program will be offering physical activities and simple exercises to parents who attend their children’s soccer practices and games. Parents can benefit from the program by learning about new activities and indulging in exercises they can do easily from the sidelines as they attend their children’s games.

Amway, Tupperware, And Oriflame Issue Notices To E-Commerce Sites

Direct selling firms are facing the heat from online retailers. Amway, Tupperware and Oriflame have issued notices to e-commerce sites including Snapdeal, Flipkart and eBay, asking them to stop selling their products.
The merchandise of these three direct sellers is not only offered at discounts as high as 40% but also bypass and strike at the very heart of the direct-sales distributor model that these firms follow globally.
In the direct selling model, there are no sales through traditional retail outlets — companies hire distributors who, in turn, sell products to consumers. Most times, errant distributors themselves supply unsold stocks to e-commerce sites and the firms are working to identify and penalise them.

“Oriflame products are not allowed to be sold by unauthorised persons, entities and means and we have issued notices to these ecommerce platforms that are selling our products. The sale of our products on these online platforms not only diverts sales from our distributors but also undermines the essence of direct selling as a proposition,” Vivek Katoch, director – corporate affairs at Oriflame, maker of cosmetics and personal grooming products, told ET.

Katoch said from a consumer point of view, some products need recommendations and usage details, which is not possible with

Kristian Hoenicke Reaches DubLi’s Vice President Level In 27 Days

A recent surge into DubLi puts Kristian Hoenicke at the top, reaching the esteemed Vice President level in just 27 days. DubLi recently celebrated their international event in Dubai, UAE, where the company has a strong presence and owns property. Tony Rush was among those celebrating in Dubai. It is unclear whether Hoenicke is still active with DS Domination (the most recent blog post in July was the last mention of DS Domination), a drop shipping online company that resells items on e-bay.
The Vice President level is a difficult level to reach, let alone accomplishing it in a mere 27 days. DubLi awards their VP’s with a property in the Cayman Islands (Grand Cayman) and at the next level, Senior Vice President, the award is a custom built, paid-for, home on that property.
The Vice President level qualification is to have 5 separate legs that each have at least a Sales Director.
DubLi is a cashback shopping network that offers three membership options; a free membership, monthly paid, or the yearly ‘VIP’ option. Depending on the level will reflect the cashback percentage. To become an independent sales distributor with DubLi the options start with a $500+ package.
Only in recent years has DubLi moved

DSA Responds To Avon Withdrawal, Speculation From Politico

Politico has speculated that the reason for Avon withdrawing from the DSA is due to the Herbalife/Ackman battle:
The cosmetics company Avon has withdrawn from the Direct Selling Association trade group, making some thinly veiled, indirect references to the Herbalife fight unfolding in Washington, D.C., and beyond.

“We believe the association’s agenda in the U.S. is overly focused on the issues of a few specific brands rather than industry-wide challenges,” the company said in a letter to other members explaining its departure. “We believe that the U.S. DSA Code of Ethics requires updating to better reflect the current state of the industry in the U.S. … As the U.S. DSA is currently operating, we do not believe that either of these issues will be addressed.”

The nutritional supplements company Herbalife has been embroiled in a fight with hedge funder and billionaire William Ackman over the company’s business practices. Ackman and his firmPershing Square Capital have made a massive short bet that Herbalife will fail — and have been working regulators to investigate the company’s business practices.
The DSA — of which Herbalife is a major member — has recently embarked on a major public affairs and PR campaign in support of the direct-selling industry. That push happened to coincide with Herbalife’s

Australian Organization Accuses Lyoness Of Being A Pyramid Scheme

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will today begin its case against Lyoness, alleging it is operating a pyramid scheme.
Tony Zeaiter and Paul Maait each invested $3,000 in Lyoness to become premium members of the Australian arm of the company.

“When it launched in Australia, they said ‘You’ll have a minimum of 500 people under you, and you’ll get a percentage of whatever these people do’,” Mr Maait told the ABC.

“[They told us] ‘You don’t have to go out and sell, you don’t have to go out and recruit people. We will give you 500 people and, you know, you’ve really got it made if you get in at this time’.”

Mr Maait said both he and Mr Zeaiter were impressed with what they saw at the presentation about the company in Sydney.
“There was literally thousands upon thousands of people joining and when they told us like Woolworths were able to get six million people to join their rewards system, it was quite believable that this could actually happen,” he said.
But partnerships with major retailers such as Woolworths and Harvey Norman did not eventuate.
“They haven’t been able to deliver on the promises that they made to people like us in order
