Medifast Board Of Directors Under Investigation

 
Kirby McInerney LLP is investigating potential claims against the Board of Directors of Medifast, Inc. (“Medifast” or the “Company”) (MED) concerning the improper compensation of the Company’s executives.
Medifast’s key executive compensation increased drastically from approximately $2.12 million in 2012 to approximately $12.11 million in 2013. This is an especially significant increase given the fact that key executive compensation was under $2 million for each year from 2009 to 2011. While the key executive compensation has increased dramatically, there has not been any significant increase in the Company’s stock price.

4Life Names Peru General Manager

 
Recently, Senior Vice President, International Jeff Kalinin named Manny Castillo as General Manager of Peru, which opened as 4Life’s 16th international office in 2009.
Castillo joined the marketing department of 4Life Research® in 2009 as an International Marketing Manager. In 2011, he took a role in the International department as a Market Coordinator for the countries of Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and Peru.
Jeff Kalinin: “Manny has excellent marketing experience, as well operational experience with new, emerging, and established markets. He’ll make a great corporate leader for this growing marketplace.”
Castillo is originally from Trujillo, Peru. He moved to the United States to pursue a college degree in business and graduated from Utah Valley University. Today, he and his wife Betty have two children. He will move his family to Lima, Peru, from Provo, Utah, in January 2015 to assume his new responsibilities.

Avon $135 Million Fine For Bribing Chinese Officials

 
Avon Products Inc. (AVP)’s Chinese subsidiary bribed local officials with Gucci bags and foreign travel in order to sell products directly to the nation’s consumers, the U.S.A. said as the company ended a six-year federal investigation with a guilty plea and $135 million in fines.
Avon is also subject to a deferred prosecution agreement requiring it to adopt “rigorous” internal controls and avoid further violations for three years before the case will be dropped. The plea, which includes an outside monitor, was announced at a hearing today in Manhattan federal court.
The world’s largest door-to-door seller of cosmetics had said in May it would settle the probe. Its Chinese unit pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate U.S. anti-bribery law by falsifying records of a four-year scheme to pay off Chinese authorities, who ended a direct sales ban in 2006.

“For years in China it was ‘Avon calling,’ as Avon bestowed millions of dollars in gifts and other things on Chinese government officials,” said Manhattan U.S. Attorney Bharara today. “Avon China was in the door-to-door influence-peddling business and for years its corporate parent, rather than putting an end to the practice, conspired to cover it up.”

Talk Fusion’s Dream Getaway Closes With Moving Breast Cancer Tribute

 
Beverly Monical of Tampa, Florida was always admired by her fellow Talk Fusion Associates worldwide for her passion, love of Talk Fusion, and faith–even in moments of adversity. A driven team leader with great aspirations for the future, Beverly had always dreamed of attending Talk Fusion’s luxurious, bi-annual Dream Getaway incentive trip in Maui. However, the four-time cancer survivor was never able to attend.
As a testament to her hard work and determination, Beverly was given an honorary passage to Dream Getaway at Talk Fusion’s annual Corporate Event, IMAGINE, in Tampa this April. Unfortunately, her health declined and she had to cancel. That would be her last chance to make the trip.
Beverly lost her battle with breast cancer this summer.
Even after Beverly’s passing, Talk Fusion Founder & CEO Bob Reina and VP of Training & Development Allison Roberts made sure that the legacy of this inspirational Associate lives on. What better place to do so than in beautiful Hawaii?
A tribute ceremony was held in her honor on Sunday, December 7th at the Dream Getaway trip for Diamond Associates and above in Hawaii, with Beverly’s husband, Bill Monical, and son, Gordon Waugh, in attendance.

Jeunesse Bestowed Prestigious Awards In Asia

 
Last month, Jeunesse was bestowed four significant awards by Toper Malaysia at the 8th Independent Entrepreneurs Team Building Convention (IETC 2014).
The ceremony took place on Sunday, November 16, at the Putra World Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur. On stage to receive all four awards was the General Manager of Jeunesse Malaysia and Singapore, Paul J. H. Lim.
After a strict selection process, Jeunesse won the following awards:  the Fastest Growing Company of the Year Award, the MLM Paragon Award, the MLM Golden Midas Award, and the YES Brand Award.
The Fastest Growing Company of the Year Award acknowledges outstanding sales performance while the MLM Paragon Award recognizes company integrity and commitment to countries in South East Asia. Jeunesse received the MLM Golden Midas Award for strategic marketing, dynamic leaders, and efficient training systems. The YES Brand Award was bestowed for successful developmental management through branding initiatives.
These awards add to the many recognitions earned by Jeunesse in the last few months.  In August, Jeunesse ranked at #258 on the INC. 500 List—making it the #1 fastest growing Direct Selling Association Company on the list. In September, Jeunesse won multiple Stevie Awards for developing their Jcloud™ technology at the 11th Annual American Business Awards.
