DSA Advocacy Alert, Delaware HB 162: The Time to Act Is Now

From Direct Selling Association’s (DSA) Advocacy Advisory Alert:

Delaware Legislature to Take Action on Anti-Direct Selling Bill Tuesday Afternoon
Dear Network Marketing Professional,

I’m reaching out personally to share an urgent development that affects the entire direct selling community—DSA members and non-members alike.
This is no longer a threat: this is now real and moving forward.
On Tuesday, June 17, the Delaware House will vote on HB 162, a bill that poses an unprecedented threat to our business model. While DSA’s advocacy efforts have helped remove some of the most extreme provisions, the bill still contains harmful mandates that would burden even the most ethical companies.
Please review the alert below and take action immediately. We must mobilize our community in Delaware—and across the country—before it’s too late.
With appreciation,
Dave Grimaldi
President
Direct Selling Association (DSA)

The Time to Act is Now
Delaware HB 162 would impose costly, unworkable restrictions on direct selling—affecting even the most compliant companies—and could set a dangerous precedent for other states to follow.
The Threat

Unprecedented disclosure mandates not found anywhere else in the U.S.
A three-month right of rescission—ten times the national standard
A 90% inventory buyback with no time limit
Applies to all companies regardless of size or history
Fails to acknowledge existing industry self-regulation

This is not about bad actors—it’s

URGENT: Anti- Direct Sales Bill (HB 162) in Delaware Threatens Network Marketing Across USA. Take Action NOW

Normally we would not post a message like this, especially not on Father’s Day Sunday! But Network Marketing is under serious attack right now in the state legislature of Delaware, USA … and what if YOUR STATE is next?
🚨 Don’t wait — your voice is needed TODAY.
A dangerous new bill, Delaware House Bill 162 (HB 162), is set to hit the floor this Tuesday, June 17 — and it could seriously affect the entire Network Marketing and Direct Selling profession. If passed, it could unfortunately become a blueprint for similar legislation across the United States.
Even if you don’t live in Delaware, your state could be next.

⚠️ What’s Happening? And Why?
Delaware lawmakers are advancing HB 162 — a bill the Direct Selling Association (DSA) has called “impractical, unnecessary, and unlike any imposed elsewhere in the United States.” If passed, it could severely affect how you operate your network marketing business and the ability of independent distributors to earn income on their own terms.
This impacts ALL of us – distributors, company owners, company executives, customers, suppliers, advocates and future entrepreneurs.
🛑 Take Action Before It’s Too Late
You must act by Monday June 16 — ideally before 12 NOON ET — just hours before the vote. Whether

Live Events Are Back—And They’re Still The Fastest Way To Build In Direct Sales

OPINION | By Monico Perez, CEO of Monico Perez Productions
Live Events = Real Connection + Momentum
I’ve had the privilege of producing events all over the world.
And no matter what company, country, or comp plan —
it’s always the same:
When people come together in person, belief skyrockets.
Leaders are born.
Stories are shared that no algorithm can deliver.
The energy in the room does something that no PowerPoint ever could.
I’ve watched shy introverts become confident recruiters.
I’ve seen someone sitting in the back row one year be the keynote the next.
That doesn’t happen by accident. That happens by proximity and presence.

Events Aren’t Just for Training—They’re for Duplication
You don’t build a business just by learning.
You build it by showing others what’s possible—and helping them feel like they belong.
Live events give your team a place to plug in, grow, and duplicate.
When you bring people into that environment, they don’t just hear information—they catch belief.
And belief is what makes people stay.
If You’re Smart, You’re Not Just Attending Events… You’re Building to Them
The top leaders I’ve worked with didn’t just show up to events.
They built to them.
They treated events like launchpads, not just dates on a calendar.
They used them to:

Recognize new teammates

Launch new products

Fire up momentum going into the next

A Legacy Built in Luxembourg
PM-International is headquartered in Schengen, Luxembourg, a strategic choice both logistically and symbolically. In the article, Sorg calls the move “strategic and emotional”, crediting the country’s central location, infrastructure, and political neutrality as key to the company’s global growth.
Forbes highlights how the company — now with hubs in Germany, the U.S., Singapore, and China — has scaled efficiently while remaining debt-free, privately held, and deeply family-led.

The 3rd Language

OPINION | By Ryan D. Chamberlin, Member of the Florida House of Representatives and 30-Year Direct Sales Industry Veteran
Protecting Our Future. Protecting Our Industry.
If you were fortunate enough to be a part of the Direct Sales industry 30 years ago and you are still here today, it is for one simple reason:You caught a vision, and you’re still holding onto it.
That vision, however, for most, has been blurred through recent trends. There has even been a question sometimes of whether the industry would survive.
It is my belief that it will — and that it can be bigger than ever.
In order to do so, however, this generation of companies will have to embrace what I call “The 3 Languages.”
Language 1: Field Language
The first is the common language known as “Field Language.”
This is the language of leadership, recognition, community — and how it is projected properly from a field leader’s perspective. Anyone that has built large organic teams for a long period knows exactly what I’m talking about.
For over two decades I had the opportunity to build and sustain large organizations within our industry, and I’m here to tell you that this is a language that most owners get frustrated with —
