SEC To Investigate Avon

 
Three Years Of Investigations
Probes Reporter continued that it has been following both disclosed and undisclosed SEC investigations against Avon since October 2012. In letters dated December 17, 2014, and August 18, 2015, the SEC has “confirmed this company’s involvement in on-going enforcement proceedings.”
‘No New’ Activity
The report further noted that Avon “made no new disclosures of SEC investigative activity” since the conclusion of an investigation in December 2014. In addition, the investigation confirmed on August 18, 2015, “appears unrelated” to the previous disclosure.
$68 million was paid to settle the DOJ’s criminal investigation and $67 million settled the SEC’s civil investigation. Although a fake takeover bid recently led to a spike in Avon stock, the longtime cosmetics powerhouse built by millions of local “Avon ladies” has been slowly declining. After years as the top global direct sales company, Avon slipped out of that spot in 2014. The company’s revenue declined 20% last year to $8.85 billion, from a peak of $11.1 billion in 2011, and after a lengthy probe into corruption in its China operations, Avon agreed to pay a $135 million settlement.

DSMA Honors Younique with “Growth” Award – $35 Million In October

 
Younique, a cosmetics direct sales company dedicated to uplifting, empowering and validating women everywhere, received the Direct Selling Management Association’s (DSMA) “Growth” award in a ceremony held November 6, 2014. Younique October sales topped $35 million.
Younique’s year-over-year sales growth of 5,145% (from October 2013 to October 2014) was enough to secure the honors.
Younique cofounder Melanie Huscroft received the award and expressed her gratitude to the DSMA and to Younique Presenters around the world who are making this all possible.

Topmodel Tyra Banks Launches Her Own Direct Selling Cosmetics Company

 
Tyra Banks, is an American television personality, producer, author, actress, and former top model. She graduated from Harvard Business School’s three-year Owner/President Management Program.
Tyra first became famous as a model, appearing twice on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and working for Victoria’s Secret as one of their original Angels.
Banks is the creator and host of the UPN/The CW reality television show America’s Next Top Model, co-creator of True Beauty, and was the host of her own talk show, The Tyra Banks Show.
