Isagenix Combats Weakening Canadian Dollar By Lowering Prices

Isagenix recently released a memo discussing how they’ve combatted the weakening Canadian dollar:

At Isagenix, we have always believed that “If it’s not right for the Associates, it’s not right for the company.”

In recent months, the value of the Canadian dollar has weakened significantly against the U.S. dollar, meaning our Canadian customers and Associates have seen the price of their Isagenix products rise by about 13 percent over last year.
To correct this, and provide more stability in the future, we have implemented a global foreign exchange policy.
And, effective immediately, we have rolled back Canadian pricing to 2014 levels by applying a 13 percent discount at the time of order!
We want to say a big “thank you” to our Canadian customers and Associates who have continued to champion our Solutions to Transform Lives™. Stay tuned to

Avon Lays Off Workers – Estimated Up To 600

The trend for Avon is still in a rapidly growing downward spiral. Avon Canada said Monday that it will eliminate most jobs at its distribution centre in Pointe-Claire.
Company spokeswoman Elizabeth Munro declined to specify the number of positions cut. She said that the company would make no statement beyond the press release issued in late afternoon.
A source told the Montreal Gazette that Avon employees were told Monday that most jobs would be gone by April while some jobs would remain until July to allow for training of new personnel. The source, who did not want to be identified, said about 600 jobs would disappear at the Pointe-Claire facility.
Munro said the 600 jobs figure was “way inflated,” but would not provide further details about job losses or how the process would roll out.
The firm said it will outsource the jobs to Genco, a privately-held U.S.-based company that describes itself as a leading “product lifecycle and reverse logistics” solutions provider.
Avon’s announcement made it clear that the Genco jobs will not be permanent. The new jobs under Genco, it appears, will be temporary and respond to demand in any given two-week cycle.
Genco “can support Avon’s supply chain needs by expanding and contracting to meet the

The receiver of defunct ZeekRewards.com is going international in his quest to retrieve “net winnings” from participants in the Ponzi scheme, according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Kenneth Bell said in a legal filing Thursday he is requesting permission to pursue at least 23 Canadian residents who received a combined $2.91 million. The range of net winnings was $50,863 to $376,808 among the listed participants.
Bell defines net winners are those who had a net gain of at least $1,000 from the scheme.
In August 2012, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission accused Rex Venture Group LLC, Zeekler andZeekRewards.com, all of Lexington, and Paul Burks, their principal owner, of raising $850 million through unregistered securities. The companies were shut down and their assets frozen.
The companies raised the money from at least 2.2 million customers, including more than 230,000 in the United States and 47,000 in North Carolina. Bell said net winners received more than $283 million combined.
The filing comes about five weeks after Bell made good on his promise to identify U.S. net winners. He listed about 9,400 individuals in a 217-page legal filing available at www.zeekrewardsreceivership.com. The list contained 15 individuals from Forsyth County, 105 from the Triad and Northwest North Carolina, and 390 statewide.

Primerica Says New Canadian Licensing Program Can Hurt Its Business

Life insurance giant Primerica Inc. says proposed new Canadian regulations could hurt its business.
The Canadian government is proposing to implement a new life insurance licensing examination program across Canada in early 2016. Duluth, Ga.-based Primerica (NYSE: PRI) reported Monday that “If this new licensing program is implemented under the terms set forth in the agreements, we believe it would increase the cost, time and ability of applicants to obtain their life insurance licenses in Canada.”
“Primerica is supportive of reasonable and fair changes to Canada’s licensing program,” the company reported. “However, we believe the new licensing approach will create unnecessary barriers to becoming life-insurance licensed in Canada and will negatively affect access to life insurance products by middle income Canadians. The new testing program was developed by the regulators outside of normal processes and we believe without proper authority.
We are hopeful that the regulators will consider our concerns in good faith and make changes to the program that will ensure the new licensing program is appropriately designed to protect Canadian consumers and the ability to serve them.”
Primerica reported that last year, its Canadian operations represented approximately 7 percent of its new life-licensed representatives, approximately 10 percent of its total life-licensed representatives (at
