A recent study by J. D. Power and Associates has found that Ambit Energy, an electric and natural gas provider, receives consistently high marks in customer satisfaction. The study, based on a survey of energy consumers in nine different states, collected data for almost a year.
From September 2013 to June 2014, J. D. Power and Associates collected information from 25,757 customers for their 2014 Retail Electric Provider Residential Customer Satisfaction Study. The results found that the Ambit Energy reviews were consistently at the top of the ranks.
The company, based in Dallas, Texas, was ranked “Highest in Residential Customer Satisfaction among Retail Electric Providers in Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.” In Illinois, New York, and Pennsylvania, while not at the top of the list, Ambit Energy’s reviews were still on the rise, ranking well above average and staying competitive with the top names.

Ambit Energy Launches New Product

Ambit Energy, a leading national retail energy provider, is launching two new energy management tools so Texas residential customers with a smart meter can view their energy usage, estimate monthly charges and take steps to conserve energy.
The program includes a weekly email, the Ambit Energy Advisor, which includes a weekly usage summary, a projected monthly usage summary and an estimated monthly billing amount. In addition, customers can view a more detailed report online when they log in to their MyAmbit Account Usage Summary. This summary lets customers analyze their energy use by the month, the week, the day—or even in 15-minute intervals.
These tools will facilitate customer understanding of their trends in home electricity use, as well as the impact of outdoor temperatures on electricity consumption. Ultimately, this detailed information will help consumers manage their monthly budget and conserve energy.

Ambit Energy Introduces Power Payback

Ambit Energy, a leading national retail energy provider, is introducing its Power Payback program to reward Texas customers who reduce energy use during periods of extreme electricity demand. The program provides users with bill credit if they reduce their consumption during designated time periods.
“We’ve already rewarded our customers for making referrals with our Free Energy program,” said Ambit Energy Co-Founder and CEO Jere Thompson, Jr. “It seemed like a logical next step to also pay them back when they help reduce the strain on the power grid during periods of extreme electricity demand.”
Under the program, customers in Texas who have Smart Meters will receive advance notification of an impending period of extreme electricity demand. They then have the opportunity to cut back on their electricity use during the specified time. If their electricity usage during this time is lower than their average from the same time period over the previous five weekdays, they receive a bill credit of $1.00 for every kilowatt-hour saved.
