“It’s with sadness in my heart that I acknowledge the passing of a great man. Verdis Norton founded his company, ASEA, to better people’s lives and be a force for good in the world, and as a result he positively impacted countless lives around the world.
I first met Verdis in May 2009. His leadership and vision changed my life at a profound level. He gave me a deep sense of purpose at a time when I was directionless and lost. I have now lived that ‘Noble Purpose” for almost 16 years.
There is so much more I could write, so many memories I could share, but I will simply end by expressing immense gratitude for Verdis, his wife Bonnie and the whole Norton family. The love and prayers of your ASEA family are with you all.”

Shaila Manyam Named Executive Director of WFDSA

The World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) has announced Shaila B. Manyam as its new Executive Director.
Manyam brings a wealth of experience in global public affairs, with a strong background leading strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives for international organizations, NGOs, and governments. Her extensive experience includes managing high-level political dialogues and public-private partnerships across sectors including global health, gender equality, and foreign policy. Additionally, she has provided coaching to senior executives and authored thought leadership papers on trade policy and geopolitical risk.
Previously, Manyam served as a U.S. diplomat with assignments in Haiti, Israel, France, Iraq, and Washington, D.C. These roles significantly enhanced her expertise in international policy, media relations, and global stakeholder engagement. Manyam holds academic credentials from the London School of Economics and Smith College, is multilingual, and has received prestigious awards recognizing her diplomatic service and humanitarian contributions.
