Arbonne Announces New CEO Jean-David Schwartz

Arbonne International, LLC (Arbonne) has introduced a new Chief Executive Officer, Jean-David Schwartz.
Former CEO Kay Zanotti decided to retire after nine years, to spend more time with her family. During her tenure, Zanotti led Arbonne through some of its most successful years since the company was founded in 1980.
Schwartz comes to Arbonne from parent company Groupe Rocher, which acquired Arbonne in March of 2018. Schwartz is a seasoned direct selling executive who brings more than 15 years of experience in the industry, most recently as the CEO of Yves Rocher North America.
Schwartz’ well-rounded business background includes extensive multicultural, international experience, including working in Africa, Spain, Canada and the U.S.

Groupe Rocher Acquires Arbonne

Arbonne International LLC in Irvine, California (USA) and a sister company, Nature’s Gate, will be bought by Groupe Rocher on undisclosed terms.
Arbonne is a direct seller of beauty, skincare, and nutritional products while Nature’s Gate is a personal care brand sold in retail stores. The holding company is Natural Products Group; ownership includes private equity firm Eos Partners LP in New York.
The deal expands the Paris-based buyer’s direct-selling—doubling its direct-selling consultants to about 475,000, news reports said—and its reach in English-speaking markets.
A trade journal said 80% of Rocher’s $2.5 billion in annual sales come from France and Europe, about 15% from the Middle East, South America and Asia, and 5% from North America.
“This acquisition will be a real asset that will enable us to strengthen our positioning in the direct selling channel, which has seen an upturn over the past few years.
We also have a heritage of providing employment opportunities —dating back to my grandfather, our founder, Yves Rocher, who cared deeply about providing employment since he started his business.

Arbonne Sues eBay Seller For Stolen Product

 
Arbonne International sued a woman this week, who allegedly obtained stolen quantities of a lip treatment product set for debut in September and sold the items last month on eBay.The company’s Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit names Ena Marquez and alleges trademark infringement, false advertising and theft.
The company is seeking unspecified damages and a court order barring further advertisements and sales of the products by Marquez or anyone else allegedly involved in such unsanctioned transactions.
Marquez could not be immediately reached for comment.
The Arbonne Intelligence Lip Treatment is a concentrated product that “hydrates, volumizes and softens the look of lips,” according to the lawsuit. It is made to “precise specifications” at a facility in Teterboro, N.J., according to the complaint.

Arbonne Sued By Customer for Causing Liver Failure

 
Arbonne International is being sued by a woman in Indiana who claims in a lawsuit that the company’s products caused her acute kidney failure.
In a complaint filed in the Allen County Superior Court on May 13, Vicki Swanson says she began using Arbonne’s “30-Day Feeling Fit Kit” in March 2013. The kit consists of protein shakes, a “Daily Fiber Boost,” “Fit Chews,” “Energy Fizz Sticks” and an herbal detox tea.
According to the complaint, Arbonne claimed in its marketing material that using the kit would “take the guesswork out of getting fit” and “give you the right combination of essential nutrients to set you on the road to success”.
But Swanson says six weeks after she began using the product as directed, she started to suffer from lethargy and jaundice, and was admitted to
