Amway Reports Sales of $7.7B for 2023

Amway, an entrepreneur-led health and wellbeing company, recently reported sales of $7.7 billion USD for the year ending December 31, 2023.
This represents an overall decline of 5 percent from 2022 sales due to the strength of the US dollar and continued impact from the ceasing of operations in Russia in 2022.

said Amway Chief Executive Officer Milind Pant.
“We do this by providing ABOs with innovative products, programs and solutions that allow them to pursue their own holistic wellbeing and help others in their communities do the same.”
Health and wellbeing has been at Amway’s core for decades. Amway’s 90-year-old Nutrilite, the world’s No. 1* selling vitamins and dietary supplements brand, accounted for 60 percent of the company’s global sales in 2023.
Additionally, Amway’s nutrition category grew 3 percent** as the company deepens its focus on health and wellness—including healthy weight, fitness, healthy aging, and skin health—equipping ABOs with scientifically backed programs and tailored product solutions.

In 2022, Amway reported an impressive revenue of $8,100 million, with up to 29% potentially being paid out in commissions.
However, despite these figures, the company continues to be criticized for its opacity concerning sales methods in Asia such as India. The sales aside, many skeptics question the lack of clear information coming from Amway’s HQ in the USA.
Amway, a prominent network marketing company, has recently undergone several significant changes, occurrences, and challenges. Controversially, Amway India is currently under investigation for alleged money laundering and operating a pyramid scheme. In spite of these issues, many still question whether it’s possible to achieve a substantial income through the company, with some asking, “Can You Make $100,000 Per Year In Amway?”.

Amway Japan Gets Partial Business Suspension Order

Japan’s Consumer Affairs Agency has issued a partial business suspension order to Amway Japan for illegally soliciting people over network marketing.
The agency says the firm invited individuals to become members and promote the sales of its products. It also says the firm urged the members to solicit other people to become salespersons, and that they would receive referral fees.
The specified commercial transactions law stipulates that a business operator is obliged to inform consumers of the names of the solicitors and the operator, as well as the purpose of solicitation.
But the agency says that Amway Japan has violated the law since at least March of last year. The authorities say the firm invited people without informing them of its name or its purpose, using hard-sell tactics and issuing no documents.
The agency on Friday ordered Amway Japan to suspend part of its business, including solicitation activities and making contracts, for six months. The agency also instructed the firm to create a system to prevent a recurrence.
Amway Japan says that some members conducted illegal acts, and that it will take measures to improve its business and prevent a recurrence. The firm says these measures will include reviewing its ethics platform, code of conduct
